Buddha Poornima Satsang

(23rd May 2005)

To be born as a human being is meaningful and rare. Gautama Buddha attained the highest stage in such a rare birth. His teachings and ideas point the way to meditation. Only through meditation can you attain peace of mind and inner tranquillity. Through meditation you can understand the state of truth, and also become mature. You have the choice to live how you like, but there is a code by which you should live. Buddha said we need to give this careful thought.

In this world, people live in so many different ways. We need to ask ourselves what is the truth of the world in which we live and what is the correct way to live in that world. We should think that we are living in a spiritual world, a pure world, a divine world and ask ourselves whether the way we are living is in accordance with that. First we must have a clear understanding of this. To live in that divine world you need to mature and purify yourself. In order to live in God's world we need to first become mature.

Each great soul is calling us to that world, and only that world. It is essential to understand this. Without understanding this, you twist and turn and entangle yourself in the false world and illusionary life. You create more and more needs by asking for this and that. You never have enough and you keep running around, struggling to collect unnecessary things and thinking only about yourself. There are many people who live like this, but there are also many who do charitable service. Think about these different ways of living and you may recognize and understand the world in which you live. Let us all live in the divine world!

Buddha wished that we understand this kind of life and the blissful happiness that it brings. He did not want it only for himself but to share it with all beings in the entire world. On this great day, let us receive his blessings and follow his teachings.
