Mathini or Matini

The root Sanskrit word mat has many interpretations, but the essential idea is that of divine intelligence and wisdom. It means good thoughts, intentions and wishes based on spiritual knowledge and higher perception. The mind that is involved in devotion, prayer and worship becomes filled with true intelligence. Such a person is the ruler of the mind. Matishvara means Lord of the mind. In its feminine form, the name becomes Matishvari or Matini. Mati is also expressed as the consort of dharma, the eternal codes of harmonious existence between all beings and energies. This meaningful and inspiring name is a constant reminder of aspiration towards the highest goal of spiritual perfection.
