Revadi

This word means prosperous, brilliant, splendid and beautiful. These are fitting descriptions for the wife of Sri Krishna's elder brother, Balarama. He had resolved only to marry a woman who could match him in physical strength and intellectual spirit. It happened that one Reva wanted a special and perfect husband for his daughter, Revadi, and he consulted the creator, Brahma about this. When one visits Brahma, time is a little different. Their discussions lasted 1,000 earth years in Brahma's abode and when Reva and Revadi returned to earth, this world had changed much and now humans were shorter than they were before! So Revadi looked very tall and men did not want to marry such a girl who was taller. Then a match was found - Balarama was unable to find the strong and spirited lady of his dreams until he met the long-limbed Revadi. He was happy because she could match him strength for strength and even wrestled with him! He had lofty ideals like his avatar brother, Krishna, and he was pleased to marry the physically powerful, mighty and clever Revadi.
