Sitaram

means Lord Rama and his consort Sri Sita, unified and joined as one. Just as Shiva and Shakti join as Ardhanareshwara, so do Rama and Sita join to become Sitaram. Rama is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the power of sustenance in the Universe. Rama is the ideal of perfection in this world. He is seen as having a personality of idealistic perfection. Lord Rama always carries a bow and arrow symbolizing his ever-readiness to fight against injustice and establish peace in the world. He stands for dharma and righteousness, qualities which the entire human race needs to develop. Sita is the embodiment of Lakshmi the Divine Mother Herself. She is the golden-handed Goddess who pours out riches to society. She is health, wealth and nobility and leads one to self-realization. Sita was the perfect wife and queen. The qualities of this noble and royal divine pair are embodied in the great name Sitaram.
